About
Ms. Mayer received a Bachelor of Science in the field of Child and Family Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) in 2018 before attending Loyola University New Orleans’ College of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree and certificates.
During her undergraduate years, Ms. Mayer worked as a legal assistant for Jason E. Fontenot, APLC, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Working with Mr. Fontenot, Ms. Mayer learned a great deal about Personal Injury Law and expanded her knowledge about the legal profession.
She also interned with Chez Hope, Inc. a non-profit Family Violence and Crisis Center, which serves St. Mary, Assumption, Iberia, and St. Martin Parishes. During her internship with Chez Hope, Ms. Mayer gave multiple presentations to Elementary schools and High schools within the parishes about domestic violence, dating violence, bullying, etc. She worked closely with the center organizing vigils and community outreach events. She spent a great deal of time networking within the community, and she had the privilege of representing Chez Hope on the board for the Sherriff’s Community Outreach Committee in St. Martinville, Louisiana.
During law school, Ms. Mayer interned briefly for the St. Charles Parish public defender’s office in the juvenile division. She hopes to go back to St. Charles in the future and continue public defender work.
Ms. Mayer was born and raised in the suburbs of New Orleans, and could not imagine living anywhere else. She is an alumnus of Mount Carmel Academy, and graduated in 2014 as a butterfly. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Kenner Business Association, and the Rotary Club of Kenner. Ms. Mayer’s favorite pastimes are spending time with her family, taking her dog, Nella, to the park, and reading.
